Shayne BaileyBorn on the 23rd of February 1983 to both parents of musical heritage, Shayne Bailey hails from the cool tropics of Tobago. With soca flowing through her veins, Shayne is the cousin of Calypso Legend The Mighty Shadow and the sister to Quebeck's very own Jazz Singer, Jazzmine Bailey. At the tender age of 8, Shayne displayed her versitility when she enroled in dancing the Art of Afro Dancing headed by Candice Ann and Vocal Training from the late, great Lauren Seeteram, one of Trinidad & Tobago's top Opera Vocalist & mother to our very own R&b sensational group leader Jason Seeteram from H20 Flo. Born in Tobago, schooled in Grenada migrated to Toronto, the uprising vocalist is now back in Trinidad. Of course no stranger to the Soca industry, Shayne is formerly known for her hits such known as "Leggo Meh Man" & groovy soca "Stomper Man" written by Shayne Bailey and produced by lengendary music producer Ibo Joseph who produced some of the well known hits such as "Jumbie" by Scruneter, "Feeling" by Rita Jones etc. Shayne is at the top of her game as she was given the privilage to share the stage with Big Band Traffik's famous well known artiste Sean Caruth who sung the smashing hit "Accident", Eddie Charles with the ever blazing "WAY DE FORK" that totally "RIPPED" the airwaves in the 1990's, The King Of Swag himself Super Jigga T.C who just seems to have all the girls them bumper "Turn Pon Di Frontline" and not forgetting The Big Man In The Business, Trinidad's 2007 Soca Monarch King himself Iwer George who seems to have everyone "Ready" for the Carnival. As Shayne and I sat under the cool shades of the evening breeze at the Botanical Gardens, she couldn't find the words to express her gratitude to Anthony Lewis (a.k.a Moses, manager & leader of the band Moses Revolution who is also her musical dad) and how excited she was to have been working with The Big Band Traffik. In these words she quoted,"It's has truly been indeed a blessing and an unforgetable journey to have the honour to work with such accomplished artiste like themselves. They have contributed so much to this industry & it's truly a blessing, "Total respect goes out to Moses Revolution" she finished quoting with a warm smile. Moses Revolution is a multi-talented phenominal band that brings a sensational blend of R& B, Soca & Reggae. In 2007 Shayne wrote the unforgettable hit "Caught Up In The Moment Of Love", which was produced by Moses Revolution that claimed Shayne to take the title of Canada's 2007 Miss Toronto's Hottest Vocalist. Moses Revolution alongside Shayne has opened shows for lengendary artiste such as Percy Sledge & The Temptations, Regina Belle, Freddie Jackson, Gregory Issac, Jamaican sensation TOK, Bajan born darling Rupee and some of our twin islands' very own soca artiste such as reighning lengends The Mighty Sparrow, Calypso King Sugar Aloes, Calypso Rose, The Man With The Sweet Voice The Baron, Johnny King, Scrunter, HD's superstar Machel Montano, Allison Hinds & the list goes on. "Also props and much thanks goes out to Mortimor, Dj and Toronto's Soca star that sung the big hit "Dick In Cider"," Shayne commented with a cheerful laugh. This multi-talented singer/writer/ composer/musician/actress is not just all about her work. Shayne takes time to share her musical abilities to the anyone interested. At the school of Music For Life Conservatory based in Toronto Canada, the family business specializes in all ranges of Musical Instruments, Vocal Training and Performing Arts. Bringing her own blend of "spice" to the tropics, Shayne has merged the airwaves with the new sensational groovy hit "Sweetness" which was written by Shaft (who also writes for Destra Garcia) and produced by Neil Bernard who also produced Faye Ann Lyons' Meet Super Blue, Bunji Garlin "Banana", Shurwayne Winchester (Open The Gate), Big Band Traffiks' Eddie Charles hit "Way De Fork You Hold Meh For" etc. "Sweetness" now skyrockets it's way up the musical charts even earning her a spot in the Soca Monarch Semi-Finals Competition that will be held on the 8th of February 2009 at the Arima Veledrome Stadium as people of the sweet caribbean just can't seem to get enough of Shaynes' "Juicy performances. You guys can expect more sensational hits from this uprising star. A phenominal woman she is and you guys can be sure to see her "BLAZING DE AIRWAVES!" not only now but also in the near future.
