Jamaica: Sept 7, 2007 While Portia Simpson Miller was being criticized as a sore loser for not having accepted the initial preliminary counts that saw her party losing by a close margin at the September 3rd General Elections in Jamaica, the Jamaica Labor Party's (JLP) supporters and friends were reveling at the "Party Capital of the World" - Passa Passa. Held every Wednesday night at one traditional JLP stronghold - Tivoli Gardens, in Kingston, Passa Passa holds a steady vibe with kicking sounds from Swatch Sound System as the foundation. On Thursday morning, September 6, the first Pass Passa dance following JLP victory was sweeeeeeeet, and it also featured Stone Love Sound who came on to heat up the place at an early 6:30AM. It was Passa Passa - as usual till the sun came up and more...with dancers entertaining busloads of people on the way the work on Thursday morning. Some partyers were clad in the green colors of JLP - at this particular Passa Passa - and all were in a celebratory mood. "It is not really as I had expected," one party goer exclaimed. She was expecting more green and just a bigger JLP presence for over a decade.
