Shurwayne Winchester links up with Alton Bertie for upcoming 2008 Carnival Season.

British Virgin Islands: Oct 13, 2007

Shurwayne Winchester has teamed up with British Virgin Islands producer Alton Bertie, on a track entitled "Carnival Please Stay."

In a recent interview with bvinews.com Bertie had nothing but praise for Winchester who he described as an "exceptional artist" to work with. "Not only is he extremely talented but he makes my part of the job very easy and he is easy to get along with. But he does know what he's looking for and won't stop until he gets it perfect," he said.

He also told how he the collaboration was initiated.

"Well, I was on a trip in Puerto Rico. It was the same weekend as the Rock the Tempo Concert in St. Thomas. On my way back I ran into Shurwayne and his band in Puerto Rico Airport. I introduced myself to him and he introduced me to his entire band. We talked for a bit and exchanged contact info. When I got back I emailed him the track which I did months before named "Serenade".

"That Friday he was here in the BVI performing and I went back stage to see him. As soon as he saw me his face lit up and he told me how much he loved the track. So, eventually I sent him the files to New York and he recorded his vocals and sent them back to me to mix.

"From the very first mix he loved it but wanted some minor changes. We worked tirelessly night and day to get it exactly right; discussing it with him on the phone and emails... At the end of the session there were a total of almost 75 tracks that we had mixed. We sent him the final version which he was thoroughly satisfied."

Bertie also said Machel Montano has expressed interest in working with him on his upcoming projects.
