In honor of the more than four years since he left, Mr. Tony 'Mentally Ill" Matterhorn, best known on the mainstream level for his 2006 Billboard hit "Dutty Wine", will be welcomed back to his home town in Brooklyn, NY, tomorrow November 10th in an event of epic proportions.
Touring away from the United States since 2003, Tony Matterhorn has returned home to the city of New York, and is ready to celebrate in a special way. Having celebrated his return with Manhattan in April, and Queens in June at sold out events with over 3,000 patrons, Matterhorn is ready to touch down in his home town city of Brooklyn, New York, and thank the supporters, friends and family he knew in a star studded event . This special Brooklyn Edition will attended by Tastemakers, Media and Executives in both the Dancehall and Hip Hop Community, and providing a unique promotional opportunity for all parties involved in the success of this event.
Throughout the years, Tony Matterhorn has been known to many as different things. Originating from Jamaica, W.I., Matterhorn made a name for himself playing along some of the biggest sounds in the business, including the likes of King Addies. Choosing to go solo, Matterhorn furthered his career by winning Victories at World Clash (Jamaica) and UK Cup Clash, as well as being a notorious personality on the Passa Passa Series, when he wasn't touring the likes of Europe, Asia and The Caribbean. In 2006 Matterhorn crossed into the Artist arena with the releasing of his Smash hit "Dutty Wine", the single that became a worldwide sensation, which was followed by "Goodas Fi Dem" and "Man From Mars".
On Saturday, November 10th, 2006, Team N.O.R.I.E, known for bringing the biggest names in the business to Brooklyn, including Wayne Wonder, Elephant Man, Lil Mama, and Swiss Beats to name a few, and MentallyMovements, the team that brought the previous "Matteron Welcome back to NY" sold out events, will team up to welcome the Man himself back to his hometown. To be held at C-PAC Nightclub in the heart of Brooklyn, this event, with the capacity of 4,000+ patrons, will surely provide unique promotional and informational opportunities for business and media entities alike.
