Sting Promoters: More Unity For 2007!
Kingston, Jamaica: Nov 3, 2007 The promoters of Guinness Sting 2007 are promising unity, during this year's show at the Jamworld Entertainment Centre, Portmore, St. Catherine, Jamaica on December 26, Boxing Day. The organisers of Sting 2007, the show that has become known as the most important live event on the dancehall calendar, say they will continue working towards using the event to send a positive message. According to Howard McIntosh of Supreme Promotions, this year's show will be marketed around the theme unity, and the organisers will make every effort to ensure patrons' safety. "Last year's Sting was incident-free and we intend to continue that trend," McIntosh said at a press launch at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston on Wednesday. Apart from the 'King of Sting' Ninjaman, dancehall giants Bounty Killer and Beenie Man along with rising stars Mavado, Busy Signal and Vybz Kartel are already confirmed to perform. The show will be broken into four segments where the dancehall practitioners will be strutting their stuff in a segment called Dancehall's Finest. This year's show will also see Jah Cure making his debut on a Sting stage. Jah Cure will be one of the featured acts in the segment billed Singers' Paradise. The suave Tarrus Riley and Queen Ifrika, who has been enjoying a swell in popularity, will also be performing during that section of the show. The show will also feature upcoming artistes and veterans, Josey Wales and Burru Banton. Another feature will be the beautiful ladies of dancehall segment. There will also be five road shows at various points on the island to promote Sting 2007.
