Nadia Batson set to release debut album, "Caribbean Girl"!

Port of Spain, Trinidad: Dec15th, 2007

On the heels of a truly remarkable year, celebrated female soca artiste, Nadia Batson is at it again. 2008 is but a whisper away and in anticipation of the arrival of Carnival 2k8, one of the year's biggest soca albums is getting ready to be released! Monday, December 17th marks the dawn of an epic in Caribbean grandeur!

"Caribbean Girl," fondly recollects this past year's triumphs at the International Groovy Soca Monarch and not to mention, a favourite at fetes throughout the season, highlights this, Nadia's first ever album release, as the cover title and overall sentiment of the highly anticipated soca CD. The album's name is a true reflection of Ms. Batson, a description of the woman who has spanned regional borders, embracing cultures, blending melodies and characterizing her inner self, through the people and places she's embraced... Caribbean Girl is Nadia Batson and Nadia Batson is Trinbago's very own, Caribbean Girl!

Many questions arise as to why now, and not before with regard to a compilation of the music that has touched the masses. Simply stated, the woman behind the sound says, "It just feels like the right time."

She says throughout the past two years, her image and popularity has certainly been better appreciated here in T&T and internationally and as such, the album, which features a host of collaborations and impressively vocalized ballads, will reach out to music lovers and touch them, in a way that no other soca album, possibly could.

Consisting of 13 tracks, "Caribbean Girl" brings back a couple old tracks all mixed in with a barrage of new hits that showcase Nadia's deep love for not only soca, but reggae, hip hop and R&B too! In her own words, Nadia croons, "these tracks all have that sweet Trini flavour and THAT will never die!"

A true debut, the album personifies the passion felt and the professionalism adhered to. With tremendous pride, Nadia assures fans that they'll love everything about, "Caribbean Girl," inclusive of the layout and presentation and the huge picturesque surprise that lies in wait...

Blazing on the nation's airwaves, the up-tempo rhythm of "My Posse," is certainly a top gun on the 13-track disc. Patrons can also look out for "Confusion," and a true Trini sentiment, ideally labelled, "Mind yuh business."

On the issue of piracy, Nadia is adamant about the need to support the artiste. She beckons that her listeners understand that the production of music is both time consuming and costly. She says that as a music writer and vocalist, it is a painful reality when she hears her tracks on the streets being peddled by bootleggers for pennies...

Inviting fans of soca and fans of a truly dedicated artiste to listen enjoy and embrace, Nadia Batson looks forward to seeing the crowds come out in 2008. She looks to the night when throngs of partygoers will sway, jump, wine and attempt to vocally execute what she's offered to them in a compilation that truly goes above and beyond...

Flying the red, white and black, higher than most can reach, Nadia B is what most around the world wish to be but only have the chance to see... yes, Nadia is Trinibago's very own, Caribbean Girl!
