Established in 2004 as a
DJ sound crew in Sydney, we
pride ourselves as the ambassadors
for Soca music in Australia. Our calendar
of events focuses on all aspects of Caribbean culture from a Jamaican Bashment to a Trinidad Jump Up.
In the Dancehall arena, SDM has collaborated with local Dancehall Sound Systems such as the notorious Nasty Tek and Firehouse.
Since 2006, SDM has been involved with the formation of Australia's Dancehall Queen Contest alongside the "Make It Clap" crew. In 2007 SDM supported International artistes such as Junior Reid on the One Blood Tour.
Internationally, we have played in Trinidad (2008) opening Tribe Thursday with follow on acts from global artistes Bunji Garlin, Faye-Ann Lyons, Kes The Band, Destra & Atlantik, Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Iwer George & KMC.
Our annual carnival tour of Trinidad has forged a strong relationship with TRIBE Carnival, the modern pioneers of Carnival and Mas in TnT. In 2008 we officially launched TRIBE Australia to expose Trini culture in the land down under.
In 2007 we introduced podcasting and launched SDM Radio. Today our broadcasts capture global listeners across all continents.
SPIN D MUSIC has evolved into a resource for Caribbean music, events, entertainment news and multimedia for enthusiasts worldwide.
